Stanley is an old grey stuffed rabbit but he is a very special old grey stuffed rabbit because he belongs to Miss Emily Brown. Stanley accompanies Emily on her many exciting adventures which include motorbike racing across the Sahara and treetop swinging through the Amazonian Rainforest. It is therefore most unfortunate that Her Most Royal Highness Queen Gloriana the Third also has her eye on Stanley and is prepared to do anything in her Most Mighty Power seize him. So begins an endearingly epic tale of attempted bunny burglary which will enlighten any slightly quizzical parents about the importance of those favourite furry companions!

Winner of the 2006 Nestle Gold Award for 0-5 year olds, That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown marks the first book in a hugely successful collaborative series between Cressida Cowell and Neal Layton. Cowell’s instantly recognisable characters owe their memorability to Layton, whose illustrations are both lively and informal, bringing together a creative montage of mixed media which suits the playful prose of the story. The narrative is simple enough for early readers to engage with but will also challenge those moving onto independent reading with an extended time-frame and longer passages of dialogue.

Here at BunnieBuzz we especially love this story because it will help little ones realise that it is their own feelings and imagination that bring toys to life.
